Preferred Breeders Sales Session II maintains strength

Session II of the 2019 NCHA Futurity Preferred Breeders Sales, on Thursday, Dec. 12, exacty matched the strong percentage of completed sales – 87% – from Wednesday‘s Preferred Breeders Sale Session I.

Rebelness, a Metallic Rebel yearling filly consigned by Double Dove Ranch, was the high seller from the Preferred Breeders Sale Session II. Purchased for $100,000 by Plantation Farms, Denham Springs, La., Rebelness is out of Desires Katrina LTE $135,433, the dam of two NCHA money earners, including Desiresomeroyalty LTE $30,257, by One Time Royalty. Desires Katrina, a High Brow Cat daughter, is also a full sister to Thundercat LTE $306,644, out of Desire Some Freckles LTE $205,444, a leading producer of earners of $1.5 million.

Tag Hes It was the day’s second-highest seller at $90,000. Consigned by Cinder Lakes Ranch, agent for Mike Magness, the gray yearling colt was purchased by Michael Roberts, West Monroe, La. Sired by High Brow Cat, Tag Hes It is out of the Playgun daughter Playin Tag LTE $235,819, whose own daughter, Dual Rey Tag LTE $56,706, is the dam of 2018 NCHA World Champion Hashtags LTE $484,766.

Rare Rubies, a yearling filly consigned by Ruby Tuesday Partners, was purchased by Circle Y Ranch for $75,500. Sired by Metallic Cat, Rare Rubies is a full sister to Ruby Shadow Cat LTE $143,951. Rare Rubies’ dam, Ruby Tuesday DNA, is a leading producer of earners of over $1.4 million, including Hydrive Cat LTE, Reserve Champion of the 2006 NCHA Open Futurity and sire of earners of $4.6 million.

Western Bloodstock Ltd will host a breakfast sponsored by Quarter Horse News on Saturday, December 14 at 8:00 a.m. That will be followed by the NCHA Futurity Cutting Horse Sale for trained cutting horses and 3-year-olds, followed by the Select Cow Dogs demonstration and sale.
